Centennial Reenactment of the 1924 OST San Antonio South Texas Road Conference
OST100 has been organized to locate, revitalize and preserve the roadway, businesses and historic sites of the original 1920s OLD SPANISH TRAIL (OST) auto highway for a decade long Centennial Celebration. San Antonio was the center of the 1920s OST Association.
Registration by March 14th is required to attend the conference.
Just as the 1924 OST Association invited federal, state and local elected officials to hear the discussions of how to pave a transcontinental highway across the southern gulf and border states, OST100 host organizations, partners, and those attending this conference will create resolutions to enhance the Old Spanish Trail scenic route of today. City and County/Parish exhibitors will receive an artistic document painted by 1920s OST artist Mary Bonner recognizing their area as an OFFICIAL OST CITY, COUNTY, or PARISH to present to city mayors, county judges or supervisors, and parish presidents.
A 20-minute official business meeting of the Old Spanish Trail Centennial Celebration Association (OST100) will take place among the exhibits. The Conservation Society’s Historic Farm & Ranch Committee and Yturri-Edmunds Historic Site Committee will have exhibit tables.
