A Night in Old San Antonio : A History in Photographs
Description:
In 1940, the Conservation Society moved their one day festival to the San Antonio River in celebration of the completed San Antonio River project (now the River Walk). The new "River Jubilee," or "River Festival," consisted of a themed parade of boats. In 1946, the San Antonio Fiesta Association convinced the Society to move the annual fall event to the spring as part of the week long Fiesta celebration remembering the heroes of the Alamo and San Jacinto.
